New Learning Experiences...

Hi folks..
This is indeed a very fruitful week as I have learnt two very important aspects which will definitely help me as a teacher, researcher as well as a teacher trainer. The first one is the information about the various search engines. So far I had mostly took help of google.com for my web searches apart from www.biography.com, www.sparknotes.com, www.ask.com, www.bing.com and education.iseek.com. All these search engines had helped me to search for different teaching and learning materials and resources.

But this week has opened up a new horizon before me. I learnt about so many new web search engines which were simply amazing. I tried to search through www.twurdy.com, duckduckgo.com, www.bartleby.com, and www.dogpile.com. I really wish to thank my fellow participants for enlightening me with all the search engines and portals which will help me a long way as a teacher and also as a learner. I have mentioned about the various searches that I made in these search engines.

The second Important thing that I learnt this week is the abcd learning objective. This is going to be of immense help in organizing my classroom teaching where I can think in terms of my target group, the behavior of the learners, the classroom context and finally the degree. If we prepare our lesson plan in this model, we will surely be benefited as teachers. I want to thank my fellow participants for their insightful observation and comments on the various posts which made the whole experience a highly intellectual one. And a special thanks to Robert for opening up the threads so nicely and also encouraging us and guiding us to move ahead with our tasks.

Will write again later about my experiences..

  1. Hi, Nizara
I must agree that I had more or less the same feeling as you had when trying these search engines. But I wasn't the only one, even our students, who know everything, hadn't tried any other than Google or Bing. I admire the way you described last week :-)
